PP (polypropylene) is a lightweight thermoplastic synthetic resin with excellent performance.

It has chemical resistance, heat resistance, electrical insulation, high-strength mechanical properties and good wear resistance. However, most of the PP we see on the market is modified. After chemical modification, physical modification, and transparency modification, it has better colorability, processability, impact resistance, and higher transparency. The application field is also very wide, fiber products (clothing, blankets), auto parts, chemical containers, food and drug packaging, etc.

PS (polystyrene),  polystyrene, including ordinary polystyrene, expanded polystyrene (EPS), high impact polystyrene (HIPS) and syndiotactic polystyrene (SPS). Ordinary polystyrene is a colorless and transparent particle with excellent thermal insulation, insulation and transparency, and is easy to color. The application fields include the building materials industry, the automotive industry, the packaging industry, etc.

In the field of extruded sheets, PP and PS are also ubiquitous in our daily lives. PP sheets are not only highly transparent, have good barrier properties, low density, are non-toxic and hygienic, but can also be recycled and do not produce toxic or harmful gases when heated or burned. They are mainly used for packaging of food, medicine, medical devices, and stationery, such as jelly boxes, dairy packaging boxes, cold drink containers, fast food boxes, microwave ovens, stationery sheets, folders, etc. PS is similar to PP in performance and also performs well in food packaging. It is also used in the packaging of electronic products because of its low static electricity generation.

Model Selection

In the current market, PP/PS extruders are still dominated by single-screw models, and the equipment cost is much lower than that of twin-screw models. Jwell Machinery's PP/PS sheet machine production line has stable material intake and can plasticize the raw materials well under a variety of different formulas, ensuring the toughness of the sheet and avoiding the problems of easy cracking and uneven color during the later thermoforming of the sheet. In addition, we still do not ignore "capacity". In the production of PP sheets, our single-screw model can currently achieve a stable production of up to 1.5 tons per hour.

Although the twin-screw extruder has a higher cost, it is superior to the single-screw extruder in all other aspects. The twin-screw extruder has a more flexible thread structure design, which ensures the extruder's feeding of materials and makes the formula more dispersed in the barrel, making the sheet more uniform.

Compared with similar models on the market, our equipment has better cost performance.

Equipment Features

1Whether it is a single screw or a twin screw,  there is a design that meets the requirements of PP and PS production. The single screw has a longer aspect ratio and increased vacuum exhaust; for the twin screw model, a vacuum system adapted to the twin screw main engine has been developed and designed to ensure that the water vapor of the material is fully discharged, thereby ensuring the performance of the sheet.

2.The unique "one-key acceleration" function enables the equipment to adjust at low speed and produce at high speed without fluctuation, thus minimizing the scrap rate of the sheet.

3.The winding machine adopts two structures: traditional winding machine or fully automatic winding machine, which can meet the needs of customers for ordinary small-volume production and large-capacity production, and directly help customers reduce labor costs. In addition, the fully automatic winding machine can cut thick sheets without jamming and there will be no problem of being unable to roll up.

4. The efficient and stable control system makes the pressure and speed of the equipment more stable. The precise control system makes it easy to improve the output and performance of the equipment.
